From around the time the Second World War ended in 1945 to about 1990, the fishing fleet at the Fisherman’s wharf was in its prime. All of the docks were full of fishing boats besides 2 “live aboard” docks that were home to an unconventional, varied community.  Many eccentrics roamed the docks among the fishermen and people would appear as if from nowhere, make the wharf their new home, only to move on just as quickly as they came and to be replaced by other equally colorful characters.
